Watch Together

In this episode of Sid the Science Kid, (Season 1, Episode 5: “Super Science Tools,”) Sid and his friends investigate using their favorite science tools. After watching, you might ask your child:

·         What do magnifying glasses do?

·         What does it mean to estimate something?

·         Which science tool looks the most interesting to you?

·         Can you think of any other science tools?

Sid’s Measurement Investigation

Measuring with non-standard units, like blocks, toys, or even kids, helps children understand the concept of measurement. Click below to download the Super Fab Lab measurement investigation. Is your room 5 kids long? 10? Measure and see!

Pendulum Painting

This activity from There’s Just One Mommy combines almost every part of STEAM! Click below for the full instructions on pendulum painting. If using paint is too messy, try replacing it with water instead!
