Countdown to the new year with Word Party!
Let the countdown begin! Earlier this year, a new season of Word Party was released and our littlest fans fell in love with the babies all over again.
Alex Rockwell, the show creator and longtime friend of The Jim Henson Company, shared some of her favorite moments from the newest season with us:
"I think my favorite addition to Word Party this past season was StickityBot. We spent a lot of time figuring out what a sticker robot might look like, sound like, how it might move through space, as well as how it would distribute the stickers, etc. Stickitybot is such an absurd invention and we had a lot of fun bringing him to life.
In terms of episodes, I think my favorite is "HIT IT." From the early days of Word Party, I wanted to do a baby rock band. This episode was designed to give us that opportunity, and it was fun to see the four babies "rock out." I also always like tackling a potty episode. For some reason, potty stories never get old for me, probably because I potty trained four stubborn children and still haven't fully recovered from the experience.
This last season was such a joy to shoot. The puppeteers all know their characters now better than I do. They evolve them in ways I don't see coming, which is why it's such a privilege to work with these talented performers."
