Sensory Play Part 1
It’s time for some sensory play! Today we’ll play Hide and Seek with Splash and Bubbles, learn about camouflage, read a book about a mixed-up chameleon, and do a color-mixing activity.
Hiding in Plain Sight
What is camouflage? How do animals use it? Find out with this activity on the free Splash and Bubbles Parent app!
After downloading the app, tap on ‘activities,’ then search for the “Hiding in Plain Sight” activity. You can see real-life examples of camouflaged animals, create your own camouflage pattern, and upload your own pictures of the camouflage you find!
Download the app here.
Watch Together
Camouflage sure comes in handy for a game of Hide and Seek! In this clip from Splash and Bubbles, (“Ultimate Hide and Seek”), Splash sees just how tricky it can be to find his friends when they blend in so well with their surroundings.

Cuddle Up and Read
Invite your child to choose a book about camouflage, animals, or anything else she might enjoy. Or catch this read-aloud of The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle.
Read along to the story here.
Color Mixing Activity
This activity from Pre-K Pages only takes a few household items and provides a rich sensory experiment, as well as art and STEM enrichment. The instructions invite you to draw a chameleon on the jar, but don’t let that stop you if art isn’t your jam. Young children will still have a great time experimenting with the color mixtures, chameleon or no!
