Watch Together

In this episode of Sid the Science Kid, (Season 1, Episode 27 “Home Tweet Home,”), Sid learns about the different places that birds live. After watching you might ask your child:

  • What kinds of birds have you seen in our neighborhood?

  • What are some of the different homes where animals live?

  • What do birds use to build their nests? Why do they use those things?

  • What else do you think Sid could do to get birds to come to his birdhouse?

Watch the episode here.

Super Fab Lab Investigation: The Big Bird Nest

Now you can do a Super Fab Lab investigation on nests, just like Sid and his friends! Click below for the full instructions. Then gather some sticks, twigs, fluff, and anything else you think would make a comfy nest. Don’t forget to upload a picture of your finished product to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #HensonAtHome!

Download the activity here.
