Watch Together

In this episode of Sid The Science Kid, (Season 1, Episode 18: “The Big Sneeze”), Sid learns all about something yucky that grows: germs! After watching, ask your child:

  • Why can’t you see germs with your eyes?

  • How can you keep from spreading germs when you sneeze?

  • Why do you have to wash your hands after sneezing or coughing?

Let’s dig in and get our hands dirty! In this investigation we’ll observe our hands carefully after cleaning them with dry paper towels and then with soap and water. By comparing the two cleaning methods, we’ll see for ourselves why it’s better to use soap and water to wash our hands.

“Grow” Your Own Music

You can “grow” something yourself by using instruments: music! You can even make your music sound like it’s growing by making it louder or softer. Check out this video on how to make your own Doozer-inspired instruments using items from around your home.
