Things That Grow Part 1
It’s Things That Grow week! Today we’ll read about a tiny seed, do a garden finger play, investigate living and non-living things with Dinosaur Train, and look back on how much we’ve grown with the Pajanimals.
Cuddle Up and Read
This time of year, it’s easy to spot one thing that grows: plants! Flowers, trees, grass, and many other plants all come from seeds. Find a book about plants to read or catch this read-aloud of The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle.

This is My Garden Finger Play
This is my garden (Extend one hand, palm up)
I’ll rake it with care. (Make raking motion on palm with 3 fingers of other hand)
I’ve got some small seeds (Use thumb and finger to show small)
To plant right in there. (Plant motion)
The sun will shine, (Make circle with hands)
And the rain will fall. (Let fingers flutter down to lap)
And my garden will blossom (Cup hands together; extend upward slowly)
And grow straight and tall. (Stand on tiptoes and indicate tall)

Watch Together
Everyone starts off as babies, including you! In this episode of Pajanimals, (Season 1, Episode 26: “I Was A Baby?”), Granny Pearl reminds Squacky of all the things he has learned to do since he grew into a big kid. After watching, ask your child:
What do you do differently now than when you were a baby?
Tell me about something you learned to do recently
What is something you look forward to doing when you grow even more?
